Hammersmith a question can I use this hydraulic crimper for a 3/8” steel cable (4x4 winch) and Ferrell in this machine. I would use this to tie in a tail of a Flemish/farmers loop.
Myślę, że nie ma żadnego problemu. Użyj odpowiedniej szerokości szczęk i zaciśniesz bez trudu
Thankyou for the video
Very helpful video..thanks.
Do you ship to US ?
Unfortunately we do not.
It is quite fiddidly
8:30 sorry for being pedantic but test should show that the cable breaks before the connection, not that it pulled out of the timber. Your test checked the quality of the timber, not the fitting. Also, you didn’t say if the failure tension exceeded the fitting’s rating or not. If it pulled out below the tension rating, the test is meaningless. I’d recommend you do a test where the anchoring isn’t the failure point.
Are you interested in working together promote our sofa legs ? We are wooden sofa legs manufacturer
Thank you, now I am confident I can complete my handrail as soon as it stops raining
You missed a very very important part and why the capitals are always the first thing to rot out. Paint/seal the top of post and bottom of capital multiple coats before you install.
You are 100% correct
It worked! Thanks for the tip.
Good video however it would have been much better if you could have had the camera a bit nearer so we could have actually seen things clearer
Watch the video at the 6 minute mark he actually does a close up
Great video, thanks.
This is a remarkably poor video. There are critical aspects of swaging that are missing. Also how you swage is not described and how it should look finished. 1 out 10
Helpful. Thank you.
Awesome tutorial 👌
What angle does the angled fixing plate make please?
Approx 10 degrees
Thank you@@HammersmithDIY
4 AWG works well for 3/16" wire rope swaging.
Genius. Thank you so much!
Is there a way to cut the crimped metal?
If you are referring to the ferrule, then cutting this would be best done with some sort of angle grinder.
Dressmakers use cms engineers use m and mm. Mix them and your in it.
600mm swage is much more user friendly than the 350mm. Especially if you are doing large amounts
Perfect
I'm using these fittings instead of threaded ones. Much easier to make a closed loop.
were i can get that hydraulic crimping machine
hig - just wondering - in terms of application - whats the difference between TWA Woodcare 300g Ecoseal Tanalised Timber Treatment and Tanalised 300g Clear Enseal Timber Treatment?
A quick look at the biocide ingredients suggests the Ecoseal has permethrin and copper naphthenate whilst the Enseal has zinc napthalene and permethrin. So both has permethrin which is an insecticide so good for termite protection. Pyrethroids are synthetic chemicals that act like natural extracts from the chrysanthemum flower. Ecoseal's copper naphthenate is used to protect against fungal rot, decay, termites and wood-boring insects. Wood treated with copper naphthenate is specified for exterior above ground as well as, ground contact, and . Copper naphthenate is also used as protective wood preservative surface treatments when applied to bare seasoned wood. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper_naphthenate. Enseal's Zinc naphthenate is similar to copper naphthenate but is less effective in preventing decay from wood-destroying fungi and mildew. It is light colored and does not impart the characteristic greenish color of copper naphthenate. Zinc naphthenate is not used for pressure treating and is not intended as a stand-alone preservative. See www.fpl.fs.usda.gov/documnts/fplgtr/fplgtr113/ch14.pdf So I guess the clear is good for above ground where fungal issues are not likely to be a concern and you don't want a green finish
But what if I have to do this 200 times, what affordable options are there out there other than a hand tool?

Thanks very informative 👍
What you say that angular leg... P
Thanks mate. Very useful information and video.
whats the name of the of the metal part that goes around the inside of the loop at ruclips.net/video/3To3xHKcTjc/видео.html
Dear how to fix a bolt in leg??? Plz reply
How about you zoom in🤣
Excellent video .Thankyou so much!!
I did this same single crimp and out of 2 ends 1 slipped. I think 2 crimps per end in 2 different spots is key. I would rather only crimp once but, It would ruin a hole run if one end slips
@Hammersmith DIY I am not sure what timber you are machining i am based in the UK and process alot of Oak and Idigbo would proberly have a slightly higher feed speed but it looks like you are getting a very good finish so i would'nt change what you are doing.
Thanks for the info. What sort of feed rate would you run those timbers at ?
Great video. Bout to get to work on mine now. Thanks.
What's called the steel connection parts
Thanks - very helpful
Great vid explaining swageless ballustrade fittings. Just bought the swageless version but with tapered jaw clamp ends from Pinnacle. Seems like great quality gear, just wanted to see a vid on how exactly to best make these work for a tight finish. I would have liked to see a vid showing the tapered version in situe ie between a couple of posts showing exactly the best way to get the tension you need. I figure I need to undo the turnbuckle as much as possible, cut the cable to length and see if it tensions up nicely. I'm sure it will be fine, thanks for the information Hammersmith DIY.
thank you. after the close up it was very helpful to me a first timer. dont complain about about the bench set up. try doing it a top of an 8 foot ladder. it aint easy.
Should that machine not be running six times faster than it is
Thanks for the feedback Steve. I am not sure as to why it is run at this speed, but I do know that the timber is quite hard on tooling. Do you have experience with this type of equipment ?

I’m having an awful lot of trouble trying to register an account on your website I just want to place an order.
We are aware of an issue. You don’t need an account to place an order. If you are still struggling you can just email us what you want.
What are those pipes and fittings called? What do I ask for at the hardware store? I’ve never seen that type of fittings.
Is this tool made in China?
Unfortunately it is, but it is from a reliable supplier that we have purchased 1000’s from.
@@HammersmithDIY OK - Thanks
Great video - Thank you!
Good video complete information, awesome, you are the only one whos know what dies to use, wonderful wonderful wonderful!
Thanks.
Why didnt you explain the thickness of the wire has different amount of sleaves Example 1/8 uses 3 sleeves
My American ass definitely heard ‘Have-A-Sniff DIY Products’. A bit cheeky I thought for a hardware video- turns out the smell was from having my own head up my ass. Good informative video. 👍
Hello, one question, how many spindles does it manufacture per minute or per second?
I am not exactly sure, but the timeline on the video would give you a pretty good idea.
